Legends says, that Oromo people in the region of Kaffa in Ethiopia were the first to recognized the effects of coffee plants, after seeing how excited goats become after eating coffee beans.
Coffee is a brewed drink. Prepared from roasted coffee beans (seeds of the coffee plant) was exported from Africa. European immigrants introduced coffee, along with other products to America. They brought their cultivation and it was distributed into the jungle of Peru (Moyobamba, Chanchamayo, Cusco, Ayacucho, etc.)
Health Benefits
The coffee has many antioxidant properties. It can help soothe the symptoms of migraine and can prevent other diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Coffee has more than 1000 substances, including vitamins, minerals and others. Several studies had shown that coffee lowers the risk of getting diabetes type II.
It is a source of energy. A coffee in the morning serves to decrease sleepiness and improve alertness by absorbing into the bloodstream the stimulant contents called caffeine
It is recommended that coffee is not consumed by pregnant and hypertensive as well as people with heart and stomach problems.
Uses – Usage
The coffee can be taken as a tea, toasted dropwise. Caffeine is used in beverages and foods. It is also used as desserts such as coffee beans covered with chocolate, for sports supplements, etc.
