Camu Camu is a Peruvian amazon native fruit.
Amazon people, believes that the name comes from the sound that makes the gamitana fish when they take impulse to catch the fruits that falls into the water. As it is long used by natives, normally camu camu is was harvest directly into canoes. Now it has come lo large scale cultivation and sale. Harvest in wild camu camu trees can give up to 26 lb of fruit, and can be in production for around for several decades.

Camu Camu is the fruit with the highest Vitamin C content, anti-aging, strengthens the immune system, incredible antioxidant that is said to prevent cancer, it protects the body from bacterial and viral infections, as well as prevents fatigue in athletes. The combinations of organic compound, minerals, amino acids and vitamins also helps the growth and protection in muscles. Contains 56 times more vitamin C than a lemon, 60 times more than an orange.
Uses – Usage
It can be used to enrich beverages, or juice directly to prepare desserts and in powder directly into capsules. Can be taken also directly. It has an extreme acid flavor due to the high contents of vitamin C and sometimes needs some sugar to be added.
